“Matador”

This is the fable of the mouse and the bull.

It is a necessary counter to “might makes right”. Often the mighty overcome the weak, but there’s always potential for an “upset”. The agile and brave mouse in the original fable bites the nose of the powerful bull, alludes his attacks and taunts him. The mouse says to the bull, “you big fellows don’t always have it your own way. You see, sometimes we little ones come off best”

 We all love a story like David and Goliath. We like nothing better than underdog who overcomes the odds and proves everyone wrong, even themselves! It’s what we crave, in our movies, shows, books, sports teams and many more avenues of our day-to-day life. I think there may be a spiritual component to that as well, but that’s for another day.

 The Matador felt right as for the mouse, although a safety pin wouldn’t be lethal, but it might at least teach the bull a lesson!
