Here is a subtle sparrow posing for the viewer. I used the limited Zorn palette for this one.

While sparrows are plain and numerous, there is a lesson in the sparrows that always brings me to that passage in the Bible in the book of Matthew, where Jesus reminds his listeners that God even cares about these little birds. They are precious to him - but beyond that, how much more precious are you in his sight? If he cares for the sparrows, he will take care of us. We are precious to Him and He will provide.

I don’t know about you, but I always need a reminder of God’s provision. Whether it is financial, emotional, relational, situational… He cares. This White-crowned Sparrow may be a healthy reminder for you today. It was for me.
