“Curious”
11x14in acrylic on panel. Frame not included.
This bird is a Blue-headed Macaw. The smallest in the Macaw family. They are located in Central and South America, but they are also located locally in the Parker’s Aviary in the San Diego Zoo! While my wife was snapping pictures, this guy was one of the few birds that showed excessive curiosity! He was good at posing because he wanted to know what that strange red-headed lady was doing! I love it when these creatures let their personalities come out for the camera… and in turn, the canvas.
One aspect I really love with this painting is its color scheme; the blues and purples play well with the greens and yellows. It has a very “fresh” feel; a verdant bird for a fresh wall to bring some life and vibrancy to someone’s house.
