16x20in acrylic on Canvas
There is something special about that time of day when the world in the valley is in shadow, and yet on the mountains and skies you still see the bright light of the sun’s reflection, giving its last rays of the day. The Redtail hawk is seeking to bask in its warmth before the cool of the night settles on the land.
This was also painted with the limited Zorn Palette, and has a surprisingly purple hue to it, which is strange since I don’t have any blue present! That’s the magic of paint-mixing and how the paint can trick your eye as you look at the artwork!
